Meet the team: Julie McInroe

"Nga Paparoa te maunga, Mawhera te awa, Ikamatua te kainga, Julie McInroe te ingoa.

Born and raised on a small sheep and cattle farm, I do have rural roots and with my sisters was pretty good at rounding up sheep, helping with haymaking and jumping up and down in the wool press. In fact, on a return visit to the farm only last year some graffiti we scratched on the woolshed was still there over 50 years later!

After moving away from Tai Poutini I trained as a primary teacher in Wellington and had a varied career in teaching, school admin and roles with NetballNZ and VolleyballNZ before chance drew me to FarmIQ in 2018. Knowing nothing about developing software, I found my niche, supporting the brilliant team working on their dual passions of tech and supporting farmers, inspiring and rewarding.

I am in awe of how far the product has developed, the personal and professional growth of our young staff and their knowledge and passion for tech in the ag-sector and to utilise that to enhance NZ Inc to lead the world in food and fibre."
